Not affiliated with MARTA. atltransit.live is an independent, unofficial service. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (“MARTA™”) or any local, state, or federal government entity. “MARTA” and related marks are trademarks of the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority, referenced here solely to identify the transit system the Service describes; such marks remain the property of their respective owners.
Effective Date: August 6, 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of atltransit.live (the “Service”), operated by Civic Forge Solutions LLC (“CFS,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. About the Service
atltransit.live provides real-time and scheduled transit information (including live vehicle arrivals, route maps, service alerts, and related statistics) for the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (“MARTA”) system, the primary transit provider for the Atlanta region. The Service aggregates and republishes publicly available MARTA data (including GTFS and GTFS-RT feeds and public service alerts) and adds its own tools on top of that data. See the notice at the top of this page regarding our independence from MARTA.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. If you are under the age of majority in your jurisdiction, you may use the Service only with the involvement of a parent or legal guardian.
The Service is intended for use only by individuals located in the State of Georgia. The Service is not intended for, and may not be used by, individuals located in California or outside Georgia. By using the Service, you represent that you are accessing it from within Georgia.
3. Accounts
Creating an account is only required to access our developer tools, including the API. The core Service, including the live map, arrivals, route maps, service alerts, saved favorite stops/routes, and email/push notification opt-ins, does not require an account.
When you create a developer account, you agree to:
- Provide accurate and current information;
- Keep your login credentials and any API keys confidential and secure;
- Notify us promptly at [email protected] of any unauthorized use of your account or API keys;
- Accept responsibility for activity that occurs under your account, including use by anyone you share API keys with;
- Pay any applicable fees for your selected developer access tier, as described at the time of signup.
We may suspend or terminate developer accounts that violate these Terms, have unpaid fees, are inactive for an extended period, or as otherwise described below.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service, or any data obtained through it (including via developer/API access), for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms;
- Scrape, crawl, or systematically extract data from the Service at a volume or frequency that degrades performance for other users, except through any API or bulk-data mechanism we officially provide and subject to its terms;
- Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service, including through malware, denial-of-service attacks, or unauthorized access attempts;
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to derive the source code of the Service, except to the extent applicable law expressly permits;
- Misrepresent the Service as an official MARTA product or falsely claim affiliation with MARTA or CFS;
- Use automated means to create accounts or interact with the Service in a way inconsistent with normal human use, without our prior written consent;
- Resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit the Service or its underlying data in violation of the license terms in Section 6.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access for anyone who violates this section.
5. Transit Data Accuracy Disclaimer
Transit data displayed on the Service (including arrival predictions, schedules, route information, and service alerts) is sourced from MARTA’s publicly available feeds and other public channels, and may also reflect delays, gaps, or errors introduced by MARTA’s own systems, network conditions, or our processing of that data.
We make no representations, warranties, or guarantees, express or implied, regarding the accuracy, completeness, reliability, or timeliness of any transit data or other information provided through the Service. Real-time predictions are estimates and may differ from actual vehicle arrivals. You should independently verify time-sensitive or safety-relevant information with MARTA’s official sources (such as itsmarta.com or MARTA’s official apps) before relying on it, particularly when planning travel involving connections, accessibility needs, or tight timing.
6. Intellectual Property
6.1 Our Content
The Service’s design, software, text, graphics, logos, and other original content (excluding underlying MARTA transit data) are owned by CFS or its licensors and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. Except as expressly permitted by these Terms, you may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the Service without our prior written consent.
6.2 Transit Data License
Where we make aggregated or processed transit data available for reuse (for example, via a public API or downloadable dataset), that data is governed by our Data License, unless we state otherwise at the point of access. The Data License is our own license — based on and adapted from the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International (CC BY-NC 4.0) license, with amendments specific to this Service — and covers permitted uses, the attribution requirement, the commercial-use and academic/journalism exceptions, and how it relates to MARTA’s own terms for its underlying public data feeds.
6.3 Trademarks
“MARTA™” and related marks are trademarks of the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority. Use of these marks on the Service is for identification and descriptive purposes only and does not imply sponsorship or endorsement.
7. Third-Party Services and Links
The Service may link to, integrate with, or rely on third-party services, including MARTA’s data feeds, Bluesky, analytics providers, advertising networks, and payment or donation processors. We do not control and are not responsible for the content, accuracy, or practices of these third parties. Your use of any third-party service is subject to that service’s own terms and privacy policy.
8. Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED ON AN “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” BASIS, WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, TIMELY, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE, OR THAT ANY DEFECTS WILL BE CORRECTED.
9. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, CFS AND ITS OWNERS, EMPLOYEES, AND CONTRACTORS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF (OR INABILITY TO USE) THE SERVICE, INCLUDING RELIANCE ON ANY TRANSIT DATA, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. TO THE EXTENT ANY LIABILITY IS NOT VALIDLY DISCLAIMED, OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US, IF ANY, IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM AROSE, OR (B) ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS ($100).
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages, so some of the above limitations may not apply to you.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless CFS and its owners, employees, and contractors from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising from your violation of these Terms or your misuse of the Service.
11. Termination
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service, with or without notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms, harms other users, or exposes us to liability. Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination (including Sections 5–10 and 13) will survive.
12. Changes to the Service and These Terms
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service, or any part of it, at any time. We may also update these Terms from time to time; if we make material changes, we will update the “Effective Date” above and provide reasonable notice (such as a notice on the Service). Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
13. Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms or the Service will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state or federal courts located in Georgia, and you consent to personal jurisdiction in those courts.
14. General
- Severability. If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full effect.
- No waiver. Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms will not be considered a waiver of that right or provision.
- Entire agreement. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and CFS regarding the Service.
- Assignment. You may not assign or transfer these Terms without our prior written consent; we may assign these Terms without restriction, including in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
