It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (“MARTA”) or any other local, state, or federal government entity. “MARTA” and related marks are trademarks of the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority, used here solely to identify the transit system atltransit.live covers.
Georgia only. The Service is intended solely for use by individuals located in the State of Georgia. The Service is not intended for, and may not be used by, individuals located in California or outside Georgia. See Section 10 below.
Effective Date: July 27, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Civic Forge Solutions LLC (“CFS,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information in connection with your use of atltransit.live (the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information You Provide to Us
- Developer account information. Creating an account is only required to access our developer tools, including the API. If you create a developer account, we collect an email address, a password (stored in encrypted/hashed form), and billing information needed to process fees for paid access tiers (processed by a third-party payment processor; we do not store full payment card numbers).
- Saved preferences. If you save favorite stops or routes, we store those selections in your browser (for example, via cookies or local storage) so they persist on your next visit. This does not require creating an account.
- Notification preferences. If you opt in to receive alerts, we collect the information necessary to deliver them (for example, an email address for email alerts, or a browser/device push subscription token for push notifications), along with the routes or stops you’ve chosen to follow. This does not require creating an account.
- Communications. If you contact us (e.g., at [email protected]) for support, feedback, or bug reports, we collect the information you include in that communication.
1.2 Information Collected Automatically
- Usage and log data. When you visit the Service, our servers and analytics tools may automatically collect information such as your IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, pages viewed, referring URL, and timestamps of your visit.
- Cookies and similar technologies. We use cookies, local storage, and similar technologies to remember your preferences (such as a saved home stop) and understand how the Service is used. See Section 4 below.
- Approximate location. We may derive an approximate, city- or region-level location from your IP address to show relevant transit information and to confirm you are accessing the Service from Georgia (see Section 10). We do not collect precise GPS location unless your browser or device explicitly grants it (for example, to show nearby stops), and only for that purpose.
- Developer API usage data. If you use our developer API, we log request volumes, endpoints accessed, and related metadata to enforce rate limits and usage tiers.
1.3 Information We Do Not Collect From MARTA or Other Third Parties
The transit data displayed on the Service (schedules, real-time vehicle positions, service alerts, and similar data) is sourced from MARTA’s publicly available GTFS and GTFS-RT feeds and other public alert channels. This is public transit operations data, not personal information about you, and MARTA does not share information about individual Service users with us.
2. How We Use Information
We use the information described above to:
- Operate, maintain, and improve the Service, including live arrival predictions, route maps, and service statistics;
- Create and manage your developer account, and remember your saved stops or routes;
- Send the notifications you’ve opted into, and respond to your support requests;
- Understand aggregate usage patterns and diagnose technical issues;
- Detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, or security issues;
- Comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information.
3. Advertising and Analytics
We may use third-party analytics providers (such as Plausible, Google Analytics, or similar services) to understand how visitors use the Service. We may also display advertising through third-party ad networks (such as Google AdSense). These third parties may use cookies, pixels, or similar technologies to collect information about your visits to the Service and other websites, and may use that information to serve interest-based advertising.
You can control cookies through your browser settings, and many analytics and ad providers offer their own opt-out tools (for example, Google’s Ads Settings or the Network Advertising Initiative opt-out page). If we ever add a cookie-consent or opt-out control directly on the Service, it will be linked here and in the site footer.
We do not currently respond to browser “Do Not Track” signals, as there is no common industry standard for how to interpret them.
4. Cookies
Cookies we use generally fall into these categories:
- Essential cookies: required for core functionality, such as keeping you signed in.
- Preference cookies: remember settings like your default stop or route.
- Analytics/advertising cookies: described in Section 3, used to understand usage and (if applicable) serve ads.
You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings; doing so may limit some features of the Service, such as staying signed in or remembering your preferences.
5. How We Share Information
We share information only in the following circumstances:
- Service providers. With vendors who help us operate the Service, such as hosting providers, email/notification delivery services, and analytics or advertising providers, under obligations to protect your information.
- Legal reasons. If required by law, subpoena, or other legal process, or if we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, your safety, or the safety of others.
- Business transfers. If CFS is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction; we will notify you via the Service or email before your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
- With your consent. For any other purpose disclosed to you at the time we collect the information, or with your consent.
6. Data Retention
We retain developer account information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal information within a reasonable period, except where we are required to retain it for legal, security, or fraud-prevention purposes. Saved favorites and notification opt-ins are retained until you clear your browser data or unsubscribe. Aggregated or de-identified usage data may be retained indefinitely.
7. Data Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Children’s Privacy
The Service is not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at [email protected] and we will take steps to delete it.
9. Your Choices and Rights
- Access and correction. You can review and update your developer account information through your account settings, or by contacting us.
- Deletion. You may request deletion of your developer account and associated personal information by contacting [email protected]. You can clear saved favorites at any time by clearing your browser’s cookies/local storage for the Service.
- Notifications. You can unsubscribe from email or push notifications at any time through the unsubscribe link included in our communications or your browser’s notification settings.
- Other requests. Regardless of where you’re located, you can contact us at [email protected] with any request regarding your personal information, and we will respond as required by applicable law.
10. Geographic Restrictions
The Service is intended solely for use by individuals located in the State of Georgia, and is operated in the United States. The Service is not directed to, and is not intended for use by, individuals located in California or anywhere outside Georgia. 12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the “Effective Date” above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice (such as a notice on the Service or an email to registered users). Your continued use of the Service after a change becomes effective constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
